Biography & Research: 

Yuan Shen, M.D., Ph.D., is the director of Psychiatry Department, Tenth People’s Hospital of Tongji University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Psychiatry Tongji University from Tongji University in 2009, when she devoted to studying the effect and related mechanisms of comprehensive cognitive training onto the brain plasticity of healthy aging. Since then, her main interests including: successful aging and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), cognitive training for aging people, post operative cognitive disorder (POCD) and postoperative delirium (POD). Her research is primarily focused on how Alzheimer’s disease develops and its related pathological changes. She is currently working on to establish novel AD retinal biomarkers based on optic coherence tomography (OCT), and further to validate against classical biomarkers, such as hippocampus atrophy by MRI and Aβ/tau level in CSF, in order to indentify and interfere AD as early as possible.
