Biography & Research:
Mario Tombini is Associate Professor in Neurology at Campus Bio-Medico University (UCBM) of Rome. In 1999 he received his degree in Medicine cum laude from UCBM. He attended the Postgraduate course in Neurology at University of Tor Vergata, in Rome, and he graduated in November 2004. Since 2005 he has worked at the Neurology Department, UCBM. Since September 2020 he is Associate Professor in Neurology at UCBM. He was Principal Investigator and he has participated in some national and European projects, which received grants from Government agencies. His research and scientific interests have focused on Clinical Neurophysiology (in particular Electroencephalography, Magnetoencephalography and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) applied to the study of different neurological diseases as dementia and Alzheimer disease, epilepsy and stroke. Since 2005 he has taught 'Neurology' at the Medicine Course of UCBM and ‘Clinical Neurophysiology’ at the Post-Graduate School in Neurology of UCBM. From 2008 till to 2012 he taught ‘Neurology’ at the 'Master in Food Science and Human Nutrition'. In this period he worked by analysing the nutritional status of patients with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers; the results of this research were published on Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease in 2016. Ad Hoc Reviewer for several journals as International Journal of Alzheimer Disease, European Journal of Neurology and Alzheimer Disease & Associated Disorder, European Journal of Neurology, Human Brain Mapping, Clinical Neurophysiology. He is author/co-author of 90 peer reviewed articles published in Med-Line archive and 5 book chapters. H-index = 26 (source SCOPUS).
