Biography & Research:
Shigeki Hirano, MD PhD is assistant professor of department of neurology, Graduate School of medicine, Chiba University and visitor researcher in department of functional imaging, National Institute of Radiological Sciences, National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Sciences and Technology both located at Chiba city, Chiba, Japan. He also works at Medical Center for Dementia, Chiba University Hospital. He obtained PhD at department of Neurology, Graduate School of Medicine, Chiba University, Chiba, Japan in 2007. He received postdoctorial fellow in Center for Neuroscience, Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, North shore university hospital, NY, USA.
Main research target is functional neuroimaging study, in particular neurotransmitter such as cholinergic and dopaminergic function, in Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer's disease and other neruodegenerative disorders.
