Biography & Research:
Camillo Marra was born in Rome on 26/5/1962. In 1986 he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart cum laude, and graduated specialist in Neurology at the same University in 1990 cum laude. In 1996 he obtained the title of PhD in 'Neuropsychology', having carried out his PhD VII cycle at Sapienza University of Rome.
He attended several national specialization courses and international internships in the field of neurology and neuropsychology.
Camillo Marra works at the Institute of Neurology (Memory clinic) of the Fondazione Policlinico Gemelli-IRCCS in Rome dealing, as the main field of scientific interest, with cognitive and behavioral disorders of aging, degenerative brain pathologies and focal brain pathology. Since 2005 he is researcher at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and Associate Professor from 2016 to date.
He has been a member of several Italian scientific societies (SIN since 1992, SINP member since 1993) he was one of the founder of the Italian society for Dementia (SINDEM) in 2002. Board of SINDEM from 2009 to date. Incoming President SINDEM 2022-2024
He also dealt with disorders on cognitive functions as a result of disorders related to respiratory diseases (COPD and Obstructive Sleep Apnea Sindrome) and as cosnequences of stroke
In all these fields he is author or co-author of about 180 publications in books, national and international journals (of which over 160 in peer reviewed journals) and over 450 communications to national and international congresses.
