Biography & Research:
Fabio Coppedè holds a MSc Degree in Biological Sciences and a Ph.D. Degree in Microbiology and Genetics. He worked as: Academic Visitor at "Department of Psychological Medicine" King's College London, UK (2000). Ph.D. Student at “Department of Human and Environmental Sciences”, University of Pisa, IT (2001-2005). Visiting Researcher at the “School of Public Health”,University of California at Berkeley, USA (2002-2003). Postdoctoral Researcher at the “Department of Medical Nutrition”, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, SWEDEN (2005-2006). Postdoctoral Researcher at “Department of Neuroscience”, University of Pisa, Italy (2006-2010). Contract Professor of Genetics and Medical Genetics at the Faculty of Medicine,University of Pisa (2010-2013), Assistant Professor of Medical Genetics at the “Department of Translational Research and New Technologies in Medicine and Surgery” of the University of Pisa (2013-2015). He is currently an Associate Professor of Medical Genetics at the “Department of Translational Research and New Technologies in Medicine and Surgery” of the University of Pisa. His main research activities include: one-carbon metabolism, genetics and epigenetics of human diseases with focus on Down Syndrome, Alzheimer's Disease and cancer.
