Biography & Research:
Dr Frederiksen MD, FEBN, PhD is a resident neurologist at Danish Dementia Research Centre, Dept. of Neurology, Rigshospitalet, Denmark, and has worked in the dementia field from his pregraduate years through to the present. Dr. Frederiksen wrote his PhD thesis on data from the LADIS study on the topic of interhemispheric communication and risk of dementia and cognitive decline. Dr Frederiksens early work centred on MRI, but has since extended to include PET imaging, specifically amyloid PET imaging. Furthermore, within recent years, his research has shifted towards understanding the possible role of exercise in prevention and treatment of cognitive decline and dementia. Moreover, Dr. Frederiksen has conducted studies on application of biomarkers in clinical settings in dementia diagnosis, including the use of Computer-based clinical decision support systems.
