Biography & Research:
Dr Balouch completed her Psychology PhD in 2014 at the University of Sussex, where she studied the memory of everyday activities in people with dementia. She then worked at King's College London for a year evaluating the feasibility of a walking intervention for stroke survivors. She then worked for three years as a Dementia Research Fellow at Brighton and Sussex Medical School working on different research projects on Alzheimer's disease. Those projects included a study that explored the relationship between sleep and cognition in people with Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment, a qualitative project about dementia attitudes in Pakistan and a study on loneliness in people with dementia. Currently, Dr Balouch works as a Psychology Lecturer at BPP University, London, teaching Biological Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience.
