Biography & Research:
Nela Puškaš, M.D., Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Histology and Embryology at School of Medicine, University of Belgrade. She obtained her PhD in Neuroscience at School of Medicine, University of Belgrade. Dr. Puškaš has worked in Neuroanatomical and Neuroendocrinological Research Laboratory at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. She leads Laboratory of Neurohistology at Institute of Histology and Embryology and her areas of interest are: neurohistology, hippocampus, interneurons, neurogenesis, Alzheimer's disease. One part of her research was oriented toward the Golgi staining method and fractal analysis of impregnates neurons, i.e. dendrites. Dr. Puškaš is a reviewer for several international scientific journals.
