Biography & Research:
Cleusa Ferri, MD, PhD, a psychiatrist and epidemiologist, is a professor in the Post-Graduation Programs of the Psychobiology and Psychiatry Departments at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP). She is also a member of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Panel of Alzheimer’s Disease International, and has contributed to a number of the ADI’s World Alzheimer Reports. Dr Ferri is the coordinator of the Stride (Strengthening Responses to Dementia in Developing Countries) project in Brazil, and also currently leads the INDEPI research group, which focuses on the epidemiology of late-life mental disorders and related care provision within the context of the limitations and possibilities of the present Brazilian health system.
