Biography & Research:
Dr. Mourad Tayebi is Associate Professor of Biomedical Sciences at the School of Medicine, Western Sydney University. He led several research teams that focused on developing immune-based therapy for Alzheimer and other related disorders. Dr Tayebi has strong background in neuroscience, with specific training and expertise in neuroimmunology and antibody technology and more specifically drug/biologics development for so-called protein misfolding diseases. My research includes pharmacodynamics associated related to brain disorders. Dr. Tayebi laid the groundwork for the development of unique and patented biologics effective in binding to soluble oligomeric species derived from a number of misfolded proteins, including Aβ, tau, prion, BACE, APP, α-synuclein and so on.
