Biography & Research:
• Scientist with extended experience in Neuroscience with training in Pharmacology at McGill University (Montreal, Canada), and Biochemistry at the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research (Caracas, Venezuela).
• Scientist at Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Pathology, Centre of Experimental Medicine, Venezuelan Institute of Research (Caracas, Venezuela). In charge of developing animals models of trauma brain injury and spinal cord injury. Coordinator of the research group regarding biomarkers of neurodegenerative disorders associated with olfactory dysfunction and cogntive impairment. Developing techniques using Human Olfactory Mesenchymal Stromal Cells in early diagnoses of Neurodegenerative diseases.
• Visitor Scientist and Research Associate at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in the Laboratory of Medicine and Pathobiology (University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada). A transdisciplinary group of therapeutic alternatives of neurodegenerative disorders that developed an experimental approach to demonstrate delivery of antibodies to the brain after blood brain barrier disruption by Magnetic Resonance Imaging guided Focused Ultrasound. Achieved goals were immunotherapy and cell transplantation in animal models of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzeimer’s disease.
