Biography & Research:
Yuk Yee Leung is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Pathology and the Penn Neurodegeneration Genomics Center at the University of Pennsylvania. She is the Data production leader of the Genome Center for Alzheimer's Disease (GCAD), leading and coordinating the new efforts of harmonization of functional genomics data between GCAD, National Institute on Aging Genetics of Alzheimer's Disease Data Storage Site (NIAGADS) and Alzheimer's Disease Sequencing Project (ADSP) Functional Genomics Consortium. She has extensive experience in building computational pipelines, databases and analyzing different kinds of genetics and omics data on clouds like Amazon. Her research interest is integrating different types of functional genomics data for fine-mapping in Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias (ADRD). Her goal is to identify the underlying causal genes for the putative genetic signals found in genetics analyses which, ultimately, can lead to a better understanding of the disease etiology and help other researchers translate these findings for the development of enhanced therapeutics for ADRD.
